Commercial strength equipment designed and built in Australia. Launching with the PHD Hip Press, a machine built to fix everything your standard leg press gets wrong.

A standard leg press can force the user into unsupported lumbar flexion deep in the movement, exposing the lower back to shear load. It limits range of motion, and it doesn't fit every body on your floor. We re-engineered the whole movement, so every member trains harder, safer, and through a full range of motion.
Picture two lifters, one with healthy knees and one with bad knees. If a machine only hurts the compromised lifter, and another lets both train pain-free, everyone should be on the one that is more anatomically correct. So we build for the lifter who needs it most, then make it tough enough for the strongest to push their limits.
The founder and designer walks through the machine, why it exists and what it fixes.
Every feature exists for a biomechanical reason. No gimmicks, just design decisions that change the training outcome.

Braced through the shoulders, not your grip, so you get more stability and the grip limitation of a standard leg press is gone.

A straight backrest can force unsupported lumbar flexion, the source of back pain and injury. Supporting the lumbar in the flexed position cuts lower-back pressure and increases range of motion.

Go from a strict glute press, to a horizontal leg press, to a squat press. Change muscle-group bias, find a comfortable setting, and accommodate every mobility level.

Arguably the best feature. Change the angle to suit ankle mobility and ensure correct force expression, so you get more hypertrophy with less injury and discomfort.

The footplate holds the same angle through the entire movement, less ankle flexion, correct force expression from start to finish.

No manual un-rack where the movement begins, which is exactly where instability usually happens.

A training partner or PT can re-rack the weight while the user is still in the machine. Drastically safer.

Your legs get stronger through the press, so resistance increases to match the natural strength curve. Full range of motion, maximal hypertrophy.

Every size and body proportion trains comfortably, and the extra surface lets users bias different muscle groups.

Start and stop the movement wherever needed. Every body size accommodated, re-rack at any position.
Premium strength equipment doesn't have to come from the USA, Italy or Germany. PHD Strength is engineered, built and supported here in Australia, and designed around what actually matters on a commercial floor.
Adjustable back, large footplate and multiple re-rack points mean every body size and mobility level trains properly, so no one's left out.
Lumbar support, automatic un-rack and the spotter feature reduce the injuries and complaints that cost you members.
A hero piece members seek your gym out for, and a visible point of difference from the chain down the road.
Designed and built locally, with local support. None of the long lead times, import and shipping costs, or poor after-sales service that come with imported brands.
Every machine is powder-coated to order. Spin the machine in 3D, colour the moving parts and the frame, then send your exact build to us to spec.
